RealVNC announces new edition of VNC Enterprise Edition

15 July 2008: RealVNC has launched the latest version of its enterprise level VNC, Virtual Network Computing, solution for remote desktop control. VNC Enterprise Version 4.4 is designed to make it even easier for a user on one computer to take full control of another, regardless of platform, operating system or location. For example, mobile devices can be used to mange a remote PC from the other side of the world or local Unix applications delivered to Windows or Mac users.

Designed and built by the original inventors of virtual network computing, VNC Enterprise 4.4 provides ease of use across multiple platforms for even the most inexperienced, whilst retaining the configurability and functionality expected by expert users. Along with a simplified user interface, this new version delivers other features ranging from a chat function and address book for VNC server shortcuts to HTTP support to connect through web proxies and filters.

VNC is already used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide for applications ranging from mobile access and home working to remote maintenance and training, helpdesks and business collaboration. VNC Enterprise Edition provides a fully scalable, robust and secure solution for demanding single and multi-platform environments.

This latest version can be up and running in seconds, even for first-time users, and takes up just a few MBs of disk and memory. A built-in Java viewer also allows access through a browser without installing any software on the controlling computer.

VNC Enterprise Edition 4.4 comes complete with tools for wide-scale distributed deployment, configuration and management and supports more operating systems than any other remote access system, including Windows 95, 98, 2K, ME, NT4, XP, Vista, Mac OSX, Linux, Solaris, HPUX, AIX, Java and WinCE.

"With increasing demand for anytime, anywhere computing, VNC Enterprise Edition 4.4 delivers powerful cross-platform access and control for both experienced and non-technical users,” says Dr Andy Harter, CEO at RealVNC. “It is already a highly popular tool for applications such as desktop support and helpdesks, but the new edition opens up the market to meet the needs of increasingly distributed and virtual corporate environments.”

Features such as integrated File Transfer and dynamic Desktop Scaling are fully platform-wide and multiple view-only or full-control connections can be made to the same desktop for collaborative working or training. The VNC software automatically configures itself to provide best performance for LAN, WAN, Cable/ADSL or dialup connection speeds.

2048bit RSA authentication and 128bit AES encryption provides industry best-practice security while centralised logging gives a detailed audit trail of connections. Incoming connections can be filtered by IP address patterns and ranges, and the software is configurable to authenticate users with existing domain user-name/password schemes.

The cost of VNC Enterprise Edition starts at just USD 50.00 for a single VNC Server licence, while discounted volume pricing starts at three copies and quickly reduces the unit price to only a few dollars a copy at 1,000 licences and above. In addition, there are academic, governmental and non-profit discounts available on request.

About RealVNC
Based in Cambridge, UK, RealVNC was founded by the original inventors of VNC to promote, enhance and commercialise VNC. The software has a widespread user base from individuals to the largest multi-national companies.

In addition to VNC Enterprise Edition, VNC Personal Edition is ideally suited for the individual home user or small business, while RealVNC also provides OEM licences to embed VNC software into third-party products. Several hardware and software products with embedded VNC are now available on the market.

Tisha Industries Implements Hosted VoIP from Cypress Communications

New Jersey-based design firm implements C4 IP™ hosted VoIP and unified communications solution.

Atlanta, GA (Vocus/PRWEB ) July 15, 2008 -- Cypress Communications welcomes New Jersey-based Tisha Industries to the Cypress family tree. Serving the tri-state area, Tisha Industries will connect, communicate, collaborate and continue™ with Cypress' C4 IP™ hosted VoIP and unified communications solution.

"We were an early adopter of hosted VoIP technology; however, the service we received from our previous provider was unacceptable," said Christopher Kogler, chief operating officer at Tisha Industries. "But from the first meeting, I was impressed with Cypress Communications. The account executive came to do an on-site evaluation, and a Cypress engineer conducted a meticulous examination to understand our network requirements. The thoroughness of their evaluation immediately signaled that we were working with knowledgeable people who could design, configure and implement a solution that supports our organization's needs and further enables us to meet our goals."

"Best of all, Cypress stands behind everything they say and delivers what we need -- real-time communications that enable us to stay in constant contact with our customers, superior data services that support our heavy file transfer loads, and platform reliability to ensure that we continue communicating and can always conduct business as usual," Kogler continued.

As a multi-disciplinary marketing design firm, Tisha Industries' projects cover a wide spectrum -- from Web sites to packaging, marketing materials, branding and identity campaigns for small firms and Fortune 500 companies alike. Even with such a broad portfolio, Tisha Industries prides itself on devoting the same individual attention and delivering highly creative products to each customer. It's that unyielding commitment to quality and superior customer service that led them to hosted VoIP and unified communications under the branches of Cypress.

"With Cypress Communications, customers are not forced into a one-design-fits-all mentality. We work closely with each company to understand their goals and requirements before designing a solution. Since we manage the user experience from the desktop phone, across the LAN/WAN and on to our private IP network, Cypress is able to deliver a wider array of VoIP and unified communications features, tighter integration and a greater variety of company-specific configurations," said Frank Grillo, executive vice president of marketing at Cypress Communications.

Complete with options for voice and data services, handsets, multimedia collaboration tools, unified messaging and advanced PBX features, C4 IP is ideal for users in the professional services industries whose success relies upon voice and data communications. And with local Cypress presence in 29 major metropolitan areas and a network operations center manned around-the-clock, customers can rest assured that Cypress is working 24/7 to keep them connecting, communicating, collaborating and continuing business as usual -- no matter what.
